Adobe just came out with a critical update to the very popular and widespread Adobe Reader program. This update affects both PC and Mac and covers Adobe Reader 9.3.2 and earlier versions and Adobe Reader 8.2.2 (and earlier versions).

These vulnerabilities,
including CVE-2010-1297 referenced in Security Advisory APSA10-01, could cause the application to crash and could potentially allow an attacker to take control of the affected system. from Adobe Security Bulletin - June 2010 APSB10-15 – Security updates available for Adobe Reader and Acrobat

Adobe recommends updating your Adobe Reader or Acrobat to the latest version, which is Adobe Acrobat 9.3.3.

Ken Stone is one of my favorite writers/experts on the topic of Final Cut Pro and post-production in general.  His website is one of the best places to get any random information on FCP that you can think of,

from the very basic to what audio filter does what in FCP. This is my go to resource and not only does Ken provide great information for free, he has guest writers who write very in depth white papers for his website. So for general reference go to www.kenstone.net.

I gave you that intro to explain that that is where I got this great article on Cinema Tools.

Cinema Tools is an interesting and often misunderstood utility that has been shipping with Apple Final Cut Studio since 2004. Many editors are not even sure of what Cinema Tools function is. The application is a database application that tracks the relationship between film frames and their corresponding video frames. Read the rest here.

There are almost 30 security holes that Apple is patching with this security update, and at 500-640mb for the update download-it will take you awhile to get the fix done. I’m doing the update to my laptop right now and all I’m getting is the spinning wheel and blue screen-so we’ll see what happens. And… the update appears to be finishing and my laptop is booting, but I’m still waiting on the spinning widget. It took about 320-30 minutes from download to update to get the whole update done.

Get the update from Apple here. Or Go to System Preferences>Software Update>Check Now(big button that you can click, you can’t miss it).

Anyhow this if hot off the press from ZDNET

Apple has shipped another mega Mac OS X patch bundle to fix a total of 28 documented security vulnerabilities affecting the Mac ecosystem. Get the rest here.

Well now you can show your g-love by buying a GMail hoody. That’s right take it to the next level and check out where to buy the new hoody. You can also buy Google soccer balls, mice, dominoes, and much much more.

These are the same hoodies that the GMail team wears.

When Gmail came out of beta, we embroidered the Gmail logo onto sweatshirts for the team. Any given day in the office, a couple of people are wearing them. When other people asked us where they too could get their very own Gmail sweatshirt, we didn’t like replying with “Oh…they’re not really available, it was just something we did for the team,” so we made them available in the Google Store.-from GMail Blog
